Hey do before linux I was born using computers with windows of course and ever since the new Microsoft Edge was out I ditched every browser and started using it and then migrated to linux and I searched so hard but turns out microsoft edge is not available for linux until last year but that was the developers version which is officially available as.deb and.rpm package.

I am not a big fan of Microsoft Edge but to be honest, this new Microsoft’s browser is way better than the previous Internet Explorer. Microsoft Edge was built based on the Chromium. It is available for Windows, macOS, iOS as well as Android phone.
Microsoft has worked really hard to improve the usability of the Edge. It now has a modern and dynamic user interface. On a fresh install, we can choose the new tab page look. You can choose the Inspirational, Informational and Focused. Those three style offer different tab design. Persoanlly, I like to be as minimal as I can. Focused style is my choice.
Microsoft Edge for Mac works well on my macOS Catalina. It can render any websites without issues. It also lightweight and fast.
To add more functionality, we can easily add or install extensions to Microsoft Edge. Google Chrome and other modern web browsers also have this capability.
You can access the Settings page and configure some important stuffs such as Profiles, Security, Appearance and many more.

One month after the announcement, the Preview of Microsoft’s Edge Chromium browser is now available for Ubuntu, Fedora, and OpenSUSE, and here’s how you can install it. For starters, Edge Chromium, unlike Microsoft’s Internet Explorer or Edge, is based on Chromium and is already available on Windows, Android, iOS, and macOS devices.
However, if you’re rocking an Arch-based distro or Arch Linux itself and feeling left out, here’s how you can install Edge Chromium on the same. For this tutorial, I’ll be using Arch-based Manjaro Linux.
Install Edge Chromium on Arch
Ensure that you have at least 300MB of free disk space before proceeding.
- Clone the Repository to install Edge Chromium on Arch
Head over to the official package page by clicking here and clone the repository by entering the command git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/microsoft-edge-dev.git in the terminal.
- cd into the downloaded file
Enter into the directory using cd microsoft-edge-dev and then type the command makepkg -si.
- Encountered an error?
If you encounter an error, install base-devel by the command sudo pacman -S base-devel; be patient as it might take a while to install. After the installation is done, re-enter the command makepkg -si and hit enter.
- Be patient.
You might need to type Y twice or thrice and wait until the Edge Chromium on Arch installation finishes.
